On day three, we got ready to leave and did the compass course at Duke’s meadow. First we had eggs, french toast casserole and sausage for breakfast. Then we got packed and ready for the hike. When we arrived at Duke’s meadow, we gathered in a circle around the fire pit and discussed what the course was and explained the directions. We learned a variety of plants and the history of how things got where they were. When we finished I had collected a Hershey’s wrapper, a dasani water bottle and believe it or not, a walkie talkie. For lunch we stopped at the pond near the AMC lodge. Apart from the course we ate a delicious lunch we played a game of camouflage. Then said our last goodbyes and hopped on the bus and left.
